Privacy Policy

QuickSpend ("we", "our", or "the app") is an iOS expense tracking application developed by an independent developer. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Local-First Data Storage

All your financial data — transactions, categories, recurring templates, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers that store your personal financial information.

• Transaction amounts, descriptions, and dates remain on your device
• Category configurations are stored locally
• App preferences (language, currency, theme) are stored in your device's local storage

2. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud container via Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple under their privacy policy. We cannot access your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings.

3. Voice Input & AI Processing

QuickSpend uses Apple's on-device speech recognition to convert your voice into text. The transcribed text is then sent to Google's Gemini AI (via Firebase AI SDK) to extract structured expense data (amount, category, date).

• Voice audio is processed on-device by Apple's Speech framework and is not sent to our servers
• Transcribed text is sent to Google's Gemini API for parsing. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing
• We do not store or log your voice recordings or transcriptions on any server

4. Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Our analytics are designed to be privacy-safe:

• No personally identifiable information (PII) is ever sent to analytics
• Transaction amounts are bucketed into ranges (e.g., "0–10K", "10K–100K") — exact amounts are never logged
• Transaction descriptions are never sent to analytics
• We track general usage patterns: which features are used, screen views, and app events

5. Subscriptions & Payments

In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat (our subscription management provider). We do not collect or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. Please refer to Apple's and RevenueCat's respective privacy policies for how they handle payment data.

6. No Account Required

QuickSpend does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in. There is no user registration, and we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers.

7. Third-Party Services

QuickSpend integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics
• Firebase AI / Gemini (Google) — AI-powered expense parsing from text
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation
• Apple iCloud / CloudKit — optional cloud data synchronization

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device (and optionally in your private iCloud), you have full control over it. You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Deleting individual transactions within the app
• Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)
• Managing your iCloud storage through iOS Settings (if iCloud sync is enabled)

9. Children's Privacy

QuickSpend is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no account or personal data is required to use the app, children's data protection concerns are inherently minimized.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
